I Asked ChatGPT: What are its 10 Best and Worst Uses. Here is what happened.

Artificial Intelligence / AI is here and it is changing EVERYTHING!


We have cars that can drive themselves, watches that can track our blood oxygen level, and voice activated computers that can play music, order from amazon and answer any question in an instant.


I am a writer, producer, professor, and video editor. My days are spent with creatives and in the creative space. Writers, artists and creatives are both nervous and excited about the innovation.



Generally, people are concerned about how the technology will change the job market and if AI is left unchecked, what could happen to the world as a whole. Have you seen iRobot?



Over the last few months I tested AI, specifically Chat GPT to write quite a bit. I started with a solid prompt and added details to generate better results.


Here are some of the things I ask for help with:


A syllabus

A few poems

Screenplays

Children's Stories

Essays - Did you know students are cheating?

Blog posts

Lists (of any thing and everything.)

Marketing Ideas

Business Ideas

Code Generation / Metadata

Creating the best hashtags

and grammar checks.


My biggest takeaway is that AI provides a great starting place for brainstorming, a companion to bounce ideas off. No matter how many prompts I give the AI, I still felt the results needed the nuance of finesse to get something truly valuable and usable. Although, the products generated were created in a near instant speed, and are a fantastic starting point.


Also, the more details I give it the better the results. For instance, I binge watched the entire Rocky series in a weekend and I took lots of notes. For giggles, I put my notes in the ChatGPT with a few directions and I have a wonderful "Starting Place" for my blog Post about Best Binges - Rocky.
